Jason Barrett was born and raised in Martinsburg, West Virginia. Jason currently resides in downtown Martinsburg  with his wife Summer and their adorable dog Winnie. In their spare time, they enjoy exploring West Virginia, taking in sporting events, and traveling to new places.

Jason graduated from Martinsburg High School and then attended ShepherdUniversity before joining his father’s small business. Since then, Jason has made a career as a small business owner, with multiple businesses in the Eastern Panhandle area.

Jason was first elected to the West Virginia House of Delegates in 2012. He currently serves on the Banking and Insurance, Finance, and Political Subdivisions committees. During his time in the  legislature, Jason has championed many issues including: second amendment preservation, reducing taxes, controlling state spending, foster care funding, and tourism projects including the Hilltop House Hotel.

Jason has always been very involved in the local Eastern Panhandle community, spending time serving on the boards of the Eastern Panhandle Empowerment Center – where he was board president, and the Eastern Regional Airport Authority. Jason is a devoted member of the Martinsburg Elks Lodge #778.

Jason is running for the State Senate because he believes now is the time to build an even better West Virginia. This building starts in Berkeley and Jefferson Counties. What’s good for the Eastern Panhandle, is good for West Virginia.
